The Tharwa Village is doing this event weekend in conjuction with Canberra's Hertiage Festival. On Saturday Night the 13th of April we will have a Bush Dance in the Hall,($15 entry) Sunday Events at Cuppacumbalong Homestead and a pictorial of the area of days gone past in the Tharwa Hall. (Gold Coin donations)
We are very excited at Cuppacumbalong, we will be open to the public on April 14th 2013 for the first time in many years. The Manor House at the Homestead is still being remodeled for accommidation, we are so close and happy it is all coming together. It will be open to tour.
The gardens are looking better each day leading up to the event. The roses have been fabulous this summer and hope for more blooms throughout the Autumn. The Wisteria had a setback this year, the large old piece has broken at the ground and rotted. Thank goodness we still have the younger off shoot (still many years old) going this is one of the oldest plants on the property. And at one time many years ago; there were Faire garden party's, so I decided to make a little trail into a secret wooded area near the round Rose bed for the little ones to peek into to see if they see the Fairies. I am hoping this will delight the young and the not so young touring the gardens. Hope you enjoy these little hiddy holes.
I will have the double spiral labyrinth layed out to walk. It is the logo of Aroma Journey. How it works is you think of something you want less of in your life, speak it into your palms, when you get to the center blow the wish into the universe and then speak into your palms what you want more of in your life, bring it to your heart and walk out. Easy and very powerful.
The schedule for the day is:
10am: Tour of the vegetable gardens, showing our sustainable gardening practices, I will speak about water conservation and weed control through mulching, planting and seed saving. by Rhonda D. Whetham (me)
11am: Dru Yoga in the Homestead Manor House, led by Suzanna Thell of Tharwa
12pm: Essential Oil Distillation of Lavender by Robert Kerrison
1pm Earthing Meditation by Rhonda (me) followed by a family sausage sizzle! We would like to thank Woden Community Services for providing the BBQ.
The workshops and talks are a gold coin donation, all moneys go into the vegetable garden.
Hope you can get out to Tharwa for these fun events.
